Dental Artistry – dental clinic in Newmarket
Dental Artistry has been a key player in Newmarket’s dental scene for many years. When Dr. Sara Stockham and Dr. Sheng Zhang acquired the practice in 2018, they had big plans. They aimed to add more treatment rooms, upgrade to the latest equipment, and transform the appearance of the clinic.

Overview
Dental Artistry has been a key player in Newmarket’s dental scene for many years. When Dr. Sara Stockham and Dr. Sheng Zhang acquired the practice in 2018, they had big plans. They aimed to add more treatment rooms, upgrade to the latest equipment, and transform the appearance of the clinic.
They succeeded beyond all expectations.
Their expansion plan included:
- Increasing the number of treatment rooms from four to seven,
- Ensuring each room was well-designed and ergonomic.
- Install good quality and reliable equipment.
- Focus on the patient experience and present a professional yet welcoming atmosphere.
To reach these goals, they partnered with Revolution IT to deliver and then provide ongoing support for their IT needs. With around 50 dental practices as clients, Revolution has a wide range of expertise specific to the dental and the broader healthcare industry.
In partnering with Revolution, Dental Artistry recognised the need for robust IT solutions that could keep pace with their growing demands as well as pay attention to the sensitive nature of healthcare.

Our Challenge
Prior to the acquisition of Dental Artistry by Drs Zhang and Stockham, the practice IT had been relatively under-invested in over the years. The staff used a mishmash of old computers with reliability issues and had an ageing network infrastructure. Data backup was concerning, and the day-to-day IT helpdesk support left the practice feeling like just another number in the queue.
During the design process of the expansion project, careful consultation and bespoke solutions were required to fit in with the practice’s exacting standards. Each computer was selected for its specific role, and careful thought was given to how the computer was to be installed to ensure the best aesthetic result.
The practice would also remain open during the project which was broken down into 3 phases. This required our team to work carefully with other contractors ensuring that installations were delivered on time and information was shared across a large number of stakeholders. Communication, adaptability, and a good sense of humour were required!
Our Solution

The IT was to remain as unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing as possible. Here we see a Frame TV used in the reception to display artwork sometimes, and promotional material at other times.

This treatment room has glass walls where the computer would be positioned. To save valuable desk space, we mounted the monitors on the glass wall.

Some rooms used 3D imaging software and required more powerful computers with multiple displays. By placing these computers and their cables inside ventilated cupboards we hid the mess and kept the computers running cool.

When desks are not available, carts and trolleys are used to mount computers in the right locations for easy day-to-day use.

The larger treatment room was planned as a demonstration room for the Dental Artistry Academy, the practices’ continuing education centre. A large Frame TV allows the students to observe the procedure via a small camera mounted above the dental chair. This is also projected to the Academy theatre next door.

Other interesting parts of this installation include the ceiling-mounted Smart TVs in each treatment room for patient entertainment during procedures.

This room has a Dentist’s computer and a second computer for the Dental Assistant so they can take notes, import images, and organise documentation at the same time as the Dentist is working on their computer.
Ongoing Support (Managed IT Services)
Once the project was complete, we implemented a range of managed IT services to ensure that the practice would experience minimal downtime and have full confidence in their data security and backup. The most important part though, was having a professional and friendly team to call upon for remote and on-site technical support should the need arise.
The solutions we implemented include:
- Monitoring and IT Support: Ensuring IT systems remain operational around the clock with our Total Care ‘all-you-can-eat’ support plan.
- Data Protection and Backup: A combination of onsite and cloud data backup solutions to safeguard patient information.
- Cybersecurity: ensuring that the practices’ devices are protected with next-generation anti-malware software.
- Internet and Phone System: Our full-speed managed internet solution with firewall, and cloud-based VoIP phone system
- Microsoft 365: Email and Microsoft applications
