How our cybersecurity plans secure your business
We offer 3 levels of cybersecurity for Revolution customers.
- Our IT support plans have next-generation anti-malware technology (EDR) included as a baseline.
- For security-conscious organisations, we offer Total Care Cyber. This is our bundle of cybersecurity services that aligns with the CERT NZ Essential 10 guidelines.
- For businesses with mandated cybersecurity requirements, we deploy our Total Care Cyber plan AND align your business with the internationally recognised Essential 8 Cybersecurity Framework.
Level 1
EDR – Our baseline cybersecurity
All Revolution customers on Proactive Care or Total Care enjoy at minimum our baseline cybersecurity software, known as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is a managed tool that continuously monitors endpoints for evidence of threats and performs automatic actions to help mitigate them. Endpoints are the various physical devices connected to a network, such as desktops, laptops, virtual machines, and servers. These devices can serve as the many points of entry for cyberattacks. EDR plays a crucial role in detecting and remediating threats on endpoints before they can spread throughout the network.
Traditional antivirus technology relies on ‘known threat databases’ so it is no longer suitable for protecting against today’s fast-moving cyber threats. You can learn more about why antivirus is dead here >

Level 2
The Total Care Cyber plan
Total Care Cyber is for customers who wish to level-up their cybersecurity and protect your business. Our approach at Level 2 is to align your organisation with NZ Government guidelines – the CERT 10 Critical Controls published and maintained by CERT NZ. The Total Care Cyber plan includes:
- Automated patching of software and systems – keeps software secure
- Implement multi-factor authentication across your business – hardens user logins to your systems
- A password manager controlled by your organisation – prevents users from using poor passwords and/or taking them outside your organisation
- A centralised logging feature which tracks all aspects of cyber threats which we pair with Dark Web Monitoring and 24 x 7 x 365 monitoring by our Security Operations Centre (SOC).
- User security awareness training – Since many cyber breaches happen when users click on malicious links or files, our automated user training regularly educates your team.
- Asset lifecycle management – where we track the age of your IT assets
- Backup testing – to verify that your data backups are working and can be recovered in the event of a disaster/cyber breach
- Application control – allows you to restrict your IT systems to only run approved software on your systems
- Enforcing the principle of least privilege – means granting users the minimum level of access they need to perform their job
- Implementing network segmentation – this limits an attacker’s access if they manage to enter your network.
You can subscribe to all 10 of these services at once or add them gradually over time until the complete plan has been built up and full compliance with the 10 Critical Controls is reached. The fact that your organisation complies with the 10 Critical Controls can reduce your cybersecurity insurance premiums and even be used in your company documentation – giving customers, suppliers, and Boards of Directors full confidence in the security of your data and intellectual property.
Level 3
Aligning with a Cybersecurity Framework
The Essential 8 Maturity Model is a cybersecurity framework is published and maintained by the largest cybersecurity body in the APAC region, the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).
That’s why you can be assured that it is a proven and practical security standard that is constantly being updated to evolve with the ever-changing cyber threats.
We can align and keep your organisation aligned with this framework to ensure maximum ongoing security. You can read more about the Essential 8 here.
